Bilt Blue Card
First Electronic Bank
Welcome Offer
The Bilt invite page currently lists Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium. Confirm current offers and eligibility on Bilt. The referrer may receive a reward if you are approved; this does not influence OpenCard's evaluation.
Full referral termsOur take
A no-annual-fee entry into the Bilt ecosystem for renters and members who want to earn Bilt rewards without committing to a premium card. Its value depends on the current rent-payment rules, required transaction behavior, and whether Bilt's transfer partners match actual travel. Rent rewards should not encourage carrying a balance or paying avoidable transaction fees.
Best for
- ✓ Renters who can follow Bilt's qualifying rules
- ✓ People wanting Bilt transfer partners without an annual fee
- ✓ Cardholders willing to monitor program changes
Not ideal for
- — Homeowners with no use for the Bilt ecosystem
- — People seeking simple cash back
- — Anyone likely to carry rent-related card debt
Conservative break-even test
There is no card fee, but check every requirement and any payment cost. Compare the value of points earned on rent and normal purchases with a no-fee cash card, using a realistic redemption rather than an aspirational transfer.
First year vs. ongoing year worksheet
For year two, remove the one-time welcome offer entirely. To recover a $0 fee from rewards alone, this card must produce that much more value than your best no-fee alternative. At a 1% incremental return, that would require about $0 in eligible annual spend before counting credits you would genuinely buy anyway.
